EUROPE'S PREMIER CASE LAW SERVICE

 

OFFERING CASES ON EU LAW FROM NATIONAL SUPREME COURTS AND THE EUROPEAN COURTS

 

The on-line information service Caselex provides access to the most important and valuable case law of the national supreme courts of the EU member states, the Court of Justice and the EFTA Court linked to the EU law. The cases are selected by more than 80 legal professionals and 10 highly esteemed law firms in the member states. They produce a case digest in English, including headnote and summary, which are highlighting the case's facts, legal issue, holding and decision, and result.

Presently Caselex offers cases from the supreme jurisdictions of the following 24 countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland (EFTA member), Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway (EFTA member), Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom (England/Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland). It does also include the cases of the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg and the EFTA Court.

The information system Caselex offers cases from the following 10 areas of law: Company Law, Competition Law, Consumer Protection Law, Employment Law, Environmental Law, Freedom of Movement Law, ICT and Media Law, Intellectual Property Law, Public Procurement Law, Social Security Law. Additional areas of law will be added.

In March 2008 the European Information Association (EIA) has awarded Caselex the prestigious ‘EIA Award for excellence in European information provision (electronic sources category)' for the year 2008. Due to its innovativeness and the high-added value in processing and disseminating European legal content the Caselex service has received the financial support of the European Commission through its programmes eContent and eTen.
